Optoelectronics Engineer - Orbits Lightwave Inc.

• Managed technicians in production of stable, low-noise fiber lasers and their control electronics

• Characterized laser performance by analyzing temperature effects on power and wavelength

• Optimized Vytran fusion splicer to produce high-strength, low-loss splices

• Implemented gas booster for deuterium conservation

• Performed steps in the laser production process including splicing, gluing, and packaging

Research Assistant - California Institute of Technology

• Designed and tested wearable sensors based on eddy current damping

• Acquired impedance and resonant frequency data to determine blood volume levels in the heart 

• Data from our devices were comparable to ECG and PPG sensors

• Optimized Zinc Oxide (ZnO) electrodeposition process on bare and patterned substrates

• Investigated optimal conditions, including piezoelectric properties and structure, for fabrication
  of ZnO nanowires
